1. The Hydraulic Lift Bed (Gas Lift Storage)
This is the most popular smart bed in Uganda right now. The mattress platform lifts up on gas-powered pistons — just like a car bonnet — revealing a large storage compartment underneath. You can store bedsheets, luggage, out-of-season clothes, even small appliances.

2. Beds with Built-In Drawers
If you want quick access to things every day — clothes, shoes, children's items — beds with side drawers are ideal. Two or four deep drawers slide out from the base of the bed. No lifting the mattress, no bending down to the floor.
These work best when the bed is placed with open space on both sides, so the drawers can slide out freely.
3. The Divan Bed (Flat-Top Storage Base)
A divan base is a solid upholstered block with hidden storage inside. It looks sleek and modern — no visible legs, no gap underneath for dust to collect. Great for people who want a clean, hotel-style look in their bedroom.
4. Ottoman Bed with Footboard Storage
Similar to the hydraulic lift, but the bed opens from the foot end rather than the side. This works well in narrow rooms where you cannot stand beside the bed to lift the mattress from the side.
5. Bunk Beds with Under-Bed Study Desk
Popular for children's rooms and teenage bedrooms. The top bunk is the sleeping area; the bottom space is a desk and study area — not a second bed. This is far more useful in a small room than a traditional double bunk.
